Happy Hunger Ga- I mean... first week of classes.

Either way, Hunger Games or college classes, may the odds ever be in your favor.

Thankfully, I like all my classes - so far.  I know I'm going to be crazy busy this semester, but I have to just keep telling myself that it's worth it.  It's all going to be worth it.  Even though I just realized that Australia probably isn't going to happen ever.  It's like $19,000 to student teach there, and there's no way it's going to be possible to save that kind of money in a year. I really haven't been this disappointed in a LONG time.

IT'S REALLY FREAKING COLD HERE.  With the wind chill, it got down to -30 the other day, and then yesterday it was, with the wind chill, -18 at the coldest.  It's days like that that make me seriously question my decision to attend a school as far north as this one is.  It's supposed to get back up into the 30s -- and possibly even 40s!!! -- next week, which I'm so thankful for.

But anyways.  Like I said, this semester is going to be insanely busy.  I started Block classes this semester.  They're basically teaching methods courses, like how to teach.  I've got math methods and social studies methods this semester, as well as practicum/seminar, teaching students with special needs, literacy foundations, and a gym class.  With blocks, you're with all the same people pretty much all day everyday.  The people in my math methods class, I also have social studies methods, practicum/seminar, literacy foundations, and teaching students with special needs with all those same people.  A few are also in my gym class.  Luckily, so far at least, we all get along really well and seem to have personalities that mesh well together.  Thankfully.  God this semester would be terrible if I didn't like the people I share 5 (6 for some) classes with.

Well.  I've been writing this post as a distraction and procrastination.  I ordered a new laptop battery because mine is basically dead and last about 7 minutes on a full charge if it's not plugged in, and I ordered the wrong battery because I'm terrible at that sort of thing.  The people I bought it from were really nice and understanding, but I have to go really soon to mail it back to them because if I take too long then I won't get a refund for it, which wouldn't be good.  I'm just waiting for my roommate to get back from class, and then we're gonna walk into town, to the post office to mail it.  I've been procrastinating going to the library to print out the return label, because it's cold out there and I was kinda hoping it might get a little warmer.  It's 9 outside now, but feels like -4... the warmest it's been all day. Yuck.

Ok, I'm off to the library.

I hope you all had a wonderful first week back at college.  And if you're not in college, or if it wasn't your first week back, then I hope you just had a wonderful week.
