Random things.
It's been quite a while since I've written anything on here! October 26th, the day before 1989 hit store shelves, was the last time I posted here, apparently, and it was a sort of review of the album. So as I sit here in my pajamas, watching The Voice as Christmas lights shine in the living room, I figured... why not write something up now?
It's nearly Christmas! I'm so super excited about that! I've finished (nearly) all of my Christmas shopping, and now I'm just waiting for what I bought online to come in the mail so I can wrap it. I'm also waiting for my sister to finish her shopping so we can mail stuff down to our brother and sister in Alabama. But anyway. I'm so excited for Christmas!! I don't have any big plans - just spending the day with my family, exchanging presents, and hanging out together. The thing I love so much about Christmas is togetherness. I love spending time with people who I care about.
I honestly feel like I used to take spending time with family so completely for granted. After my dad died last year, that's when it hit me that you CAN'T take that for granted. No day is a guarantee, and nothing is certain. My dad's death was unexpected and took all of us by surprise. I remember when my mom told me there had been an accident, my first thoughts were my sister (because I worry about her. just don't tell her that.) or my grandmother (because she's not in the best health in the world). My dad was probably the last person I would have guessed anything had happened to, and I think - no, I know - that that's why it changed my point of view as much as it did. I won't ever take time with my family for granted because every moment you have with them means so very much.
Anyway, on a happier note. I've been spending a lot of time at a daycare near where I live, and I love it so much. The kids are so fantastic and I just love spending time with them. I don't even know which age group I like best - I love spending time with the babies, but the toddler/pre-k kids are fantastic too, as are the school-age kids. They all have such interesting personalities. I find it interesting that even the babies have their own personalities!! (Don't judge me, I'd never spent much time with baby babies before this.)
What else? Hmm... Oh! Taylor Swift (yes THAT Taylor Swift) followed me on tumblr! So that's cool. She hasn't liked any of my posts or reblogged anything from me, but just the fact that she even followed me is incredible to me. Taylor Swift, my idol, knows I exist and that to me is so amazing and incredible and completely unbelievable.
Also, my best friend and I are going to see her in concert in just 323 days! The last Taylor concert we went to was in June 2011, so it'll be really awesome to see her again next October. I know there's still nearly a year until the concert, but I'm already so excited!
