Photoshoot!

A friend of mine needed a model for a shoot for her photography class, and she asked me if I would be willing to model for her.  Of course, I said yes!

The shoot was today.  It was an insane asylum themed shoot, and was a TON of fun to do!!  My hair refused to cooperate and be messy - even with hair gel! - so we had to get it wet and work with it like that to make it be messy (because I was supposed to look crazy).  I poked myself in the eye more times than I could count while putting on eyeliner, and then she did the rest of the makeup on me.  I wore a white long-sleeved shirt in the first few shots we did, and then changed to a white tank-top.  I was wearing skinny jeans (because it's been yucky and rainy outside and all my jeans are too long on me except for skinny jeans, so if I wear skinny jeans the bottoms don't end up all wet from walking in the puddles that are impossible to avoid and deeper than my shoes.) but I brought a pair of khakis and changed into them for a few shots.  We even did a few at the end where I was wearing a straight jacket!!  It was way too big though, so I'm not sure how those came out.  There were some shots where the only lighting was a candle that I was holding, and those pictures came of looking really cool.

It was really a lot of fun to do once I opened up and got more comfortable.  The person who was doing the shoot, we're friends but I only know her from my Spanish class, so I was a little shy at first.  Once we started doing pictures and talking more and everything, I opened up a bit and was more comfortable.  We were looking through the pictures afterwards, and there's some really good (creepy/scary/evil looking) pictures.  There's some where I look absolutely terrified, and others where I look like I could very easily murder somebody and not feel remorse.  It was really fun "playing a character" like that.  I put that in quotation marks because... I don't know.  I feel like it's playing a character if you're acting, but I'm not so sure it's the same thing for photography.  I guess it would be.  Maybe?  I don't know.  But it was so fun and so different.

I would absolutely LOVE to do something like that again.  Normally I do shoots that are safe.  They're fun and all, but the results are just... safe.  There's nothing intense, nothing to make you go "wow!"  But these pictures... these... They're really really good.  She's a great photographer, and she was so great to work with.  And she said I was great to work with as well.  She said I was a natural in front of the camera, and she really didn't need to give me that much direction.  I even had some ideas for poses that were good and that she said she really liked a lot.  AND she asked if I would be willing to come back to do a few more shots because she has more ideas, but she needs two people for them.  So sometime soon, I'm almost positive that I'm going to be in another shoot she's doing (with the same theme.  Like I said, it's for a class.)

Once she puts the pictures up, I'll ask if I can post a few on here.  I would love to be able to show you guys how they came out because I'm really proud of the work we did today.  I seriously can not wait to see the final edits of them!!

Honestly, I don't know which feeling I like better -- being behind the camera or being in front of it.
