Student teaching
I'm heading back to Potsdam tomorrow. I'm taking a Trailways bus, so what is normally a four and a half hour drive is going to be around eight hours. Please just kill me now. I'm making sure my kindle, Nintendo 3DS, and iPod all have full charges. Hopefully that will keep my mind occupied on the ride up there.
January 13th - Back to Potsdam.
January 14th - meeting my sponsor teacher for student teaching for the first time.
January 15th, 16th, and 17th - Student teaching seminar
January 21st - My first day as a student teacher!
I start student teaching in JUST over a week. That's CRAZY. How is this possible? Didn't I just graduate high school, like, a month ago? (Or, you know, almost five years ago...)
I'm a bit nervous about student teaching, but I know it will go well. I'm always nervous beforehand, but once I'm there, it's fine. I'm sure that meeting my sponsor teacher will make me less nervous. I hope meeting with my sponsor teacher will make me less nervous, anyway.
What do second graders even like nowadays? What's cool to seven year olds? What if they don't like me? Or don't listen to me? What if, what if, what if... There's too many "what if"s to think about. I need to just stop thinking. Just for a few minutes at least.
I bought myself a new laptop today. I ordered it from Walmart, and I should have it by the 21st. It's going to be weird not having a laptop that's held together with Duck tape and one that I don't have to hold the monitor where I need it to be. At the same time, I love this laptop. I've had it since I graduated high school. I have Tinkerbell and Dora stickers on it from my neighbor's kids... 3 years ago. And a sticker of my name, that one of my friends MADE for me. And a sticker from one of my fourth graders that says "Stay in the game! Be drug free!" My laptop is old and broken and generally a piece of (you know), but it's MINE. It's my personality. That was cheesy, never mind, I don't even know. But it's... weird, you know?
